QUESTION: What makes Thai Massage different than regular massage?
ANSWER: Thai Massage is an eastern approach to manual therapy and is traditionally done on a mat on the ground. You are fully clothed and is typically a more active type of treatment. There is a strong emphasis on stretching and twisting which gets incorporated during/between deep massage. The Practitioner uses techniques such as acupressure, compression and joint mobilization.
QUESTION: What should I wear to a Thai Massage session?
ANSWER: Anything that allows you to move freely in and out of stretches. Basically anything you would wear to a yoga class.
QUESTION: What are the benefits of Thai Massage?
ANSWER: Stress reduction, relieves muscle pain & spasticity as well as joint stiffness and pain, enhanced energy, stimulates circulation & lymphatic drainage, increased flexibility & range of motion, headache relief.
QUESTION: Can I use my benefits for Thai Massage?
ANSWER: Unfortunately not for me. I am not an RMT as I trained in eastern philosophy only.
